Welcome! Welcome to the Kick@ss Tudor Women eCourse. This eCourse was born during Women's History Month as a way to celebrate the diverse, vibrant, and rich lives of everyday Tudor Women, some of whom we may know, others are more elusive. We cover mystics and matriarchs, artists and entrepreneurs.

Isabella Whitney is one of the earliest women writers in England, the first to make a living from her writing that we know of. She wrote bawdy stories portraying daily life in London, geared towards popular reading, and her poems are alive, painting a picture of a vibrant London that many Londoners will still recognize today for its ability to simultaneously inspire and depress residents.
